FEATURED SPONSORS
Without our sponsors, this club could not function. So, we are very grateful for their generosity, and highlight and thank two long term sponsors this week:
New Zealand Post who have provided us with free postage over many seasons;
The Brewers Arms in Merivale, meeting place for many of our members and friends, employer of some of our players, and ongoing supporter of the club.
FRIDAY NIGHT JUNIOR CRICKET RESUMES
After a break for Show Weekend, Friday night Junior Cricket resumes at 6pm tonight.
HONOURS BOARD FOR TOM DUNLOP, RYAN JAMES, MATTHIAS PALTRIDGE, NICHOLAS PRICE, MATT FARRANT, SAM NOSTER AND DAVID ROBERTSON
Four Junior players and three Senior players made the Honours Board this week and you can see why here.
PREMIER T20 TOURNAMENT WASHUP; JUNIOR PREMIERS CARRY ON THEIR WINNING WAY
Sydenham won the Premier T20 competition that we hosted over the weekend, so congratulations to them. Our Premiers had one win over Old Boys Collegians and two losses to Lancaster Park Woolston and Marist-Harewood and therefore did not progress past the group stage. There were two standout BWU batting performances over the weekend – Matt Farrant’s 74* against LPW and Sam Noster’s 87 v OBC. The latter innings won Sam the prize for the highest overall individual score of the tournament.
An outfield catch for the Premiers’ Jarred Cunningham against OBC
Thanks to all those who played in the senior morning grades over the weekend – it is a difficult period to get players, so your support is much appreciated.
The standout performance of the senior morning grades (there were no afternoon matches) was from Presidents Foxes Skipper David Robertson, playing for the 2Bs, who took 5/18. Unfortunately the team went down by 1 wicket and have just missed a place, on points differential, in the one day competition semi-finals this weekend.
Despite a makeshift 2A side losing to Marist-Harewood, they are playing in their one day semi-final this weekend.
Celebrations for the 2As after a wicket.
You can see more Premier and 2A photos from the weekend here on the Club’s Facebook page.
The Junior Premiers, easily our winningest club team over the past few seasons, had another crushing win, this time over Medbury. Read the match report on this page, where you can also see the Year 7 Premier report.
8 JUNIORS MAKE CHRISTCHURCH REP SIDES
Hats off to Louie Chapman, Mathew Bond and Dominic Cornish whose team went through unbeaten to win the CJCA tournament over the past three Sundays. All played well again with Dominic getting the high score of this weekend – 47. In the other game Matthias Paltridge (at the helm again) lead his team to victory with the game’s high score of 24.
A big congratulations to eight Junior players who have just made Christchurch representative sides.
Junior Premiers Mitchell Hay, Louie Chapman, Cullen Moody, Ryan James, Tom Dunlop, Dominic Cornish and Josh Paul have made the two Christchurch Metro sides to play in the South Island Primary Schools tournament in Gore in January. Very well done boys.
Riley Hunter has been selected for the Year 6 Christchurch Blue team to play South Canterbury in December. Riley also won an award for sportsmanship at the Year 6 tournament played over the past three weekends. Congratulations on both counts Riley.

DID YOU KNOW?
………that the West Indies have just arrived for their tour here? So, let’s check out this happy memory of playing them In New Zealand: the 1992 World Cup round robin match. A full house, Mark Greatbatch going ballistic, Martin Crowe dominating, Dipak Patel opening the bowling. Great memories. Enjoy the scoreboard here and the highlights here.
Have a great cricketing weekend.
