Lest We Forget

Poppies

On the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing, we remember those club members who fell defending our country in World War I:

  • Rev. G.S. Bryan-Brown
  • D Godfrey
  • C.G.Harrison
  • R.J.P. McConnell
  • G.S.Overton
  • C Young

Read the research that club member Shane Young has done to uncover the stories of these fellow club members, and names of other club members who fought alongside them.

Burnside West Christchurch Cricket Club Roll of Honour

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them

Shane is leading a group of club members who are laying a wreath and a club cap at tomorrrow’s dawn service in Christchurch. Please join the group if you can.
