Only one more sleep for our Saturday Junior players who start their season off this Saturday,while the Friday night cricketers will have to wait another week, they start on the 23rd of October at 6pm.
I’d especially like to thank everyone who is going to be involved with junior cricket this year, it includes coaches and managers, scorers and helpers and Mum’s and Dad’s who will just as excited to get into cricket for the new season. In particular I would like to thank Peter Burke who puts in a tremedous effort to organise everything, in fact this week Peter was presented a Life Membership of the C.J.C.A as recognition for years of work he has put into junior cricket.
You may also have seen John Thompson be recognised as a life member of Christchurch Metro Cricket for all of his hardwork and service to cricket over the years, we thank you Thommo.
A great result last weekend for our Premier and 2A sides who both had outright wins against Marist Harewood. Matthew Farrant bowled one of his best spells of bowling to 10.2 overs, 6 maidens, 6 wickets for 11 runs.
