Premier Grade and 2a’s

Labour Weekend’s Saturday and Monday were both cricket days for the Premiers and 2a’s. The Premiers lost the 2 day fixture on Saturday as LPW took the iniative away and built up a quick lead in the morning which put them in winning position. Monday’s 1 day fixture was a loss to Marist Harewood who were able get wickets at the right times to keep ahead of the match, and not even a 61 by Blake Coburn could save the day. 2a’s on the other hand finished with an outright win in the 2 day fixture, and a win in the 1 day match on the Monday. Well done to skipper Steve McKean, let’s hope you have another win over the weekend (and we are not talking about the Wallabies).

Afternoon Grades

A mixed bag of results all round for the afternoon grade seeing the Brawlers going down, who have a top of the table clash on Saturday at Burnside #3. President’s grade player Ben Allan scored 94 – the highest of a club member for the season to date –  before his only mistake, a faint snick to the keeper sent him on his after an impressive partnership with Geoff Boorer 71. Not a bad knock after a 4 year absence from the crease. Geoff Boorer the juggler, next in.
