Junior Cricket
What a busy it is for parents with Halloween, Guy Fawkes and All Black win’s but through all this they still manage to get all the budding cricketers to their practises and matches – a big thanks for all that work!
Last Friday say the Active Post Super Star Academy kit issued to the players in the Super Star Academy 2 group, it was just a treat to see the bats and ball getting put into action straight away!
Saturday Morning Cricket continues this weekend – but due to the 4 x premier cricket matches they will not be played at Burnside Oval – CJCA has tried to make all the junior games as close as possible to the park so that juniors can come to Burnside after their matches. Please email or post on facebook some pictures of these matches!
Senior Cricket
Both Premier Team, 2a’s and our 2b team all had loses over the weekend and it wasn’t helped that we didn’t have a full contigent of players available for matches – with many people unavailable due to exams and being away – but it’s back to a full muster this week and let’s support these sides over the weekend.
The President’s Foxes and Cannon’s scrape win’s by 1 wicket with some real quality tail order batting, Brawlers win their top of the table clash with MPCC while the Mariners has a loss in their 3b match. The Dubai Diamond Traders continue their gem of run with another win while the Strikers had a win over the Rolling Stones in the local derby. The Ghetto Hustlers also has pleasing win over St. Albans by 5 wickets.
The big match up of the week sees a top of the table clash of two unbeaten President’s sides as the Foxes take on the MPCC at Hospital Corner.
Paul ‘Ando” Anderson of the Whangaparoa Canno’s Pony Club
Citation reads – “Jellyfish stopped the rot for a time until 2 wickets in 2 overs had us 71/9. Step up Ando. Edge of the seat stuff as he guided the ball to the fence twice, then requiring 5 to win went down town for 6 over long off, earning him back to back 4M Awards”
Al Brown and Honour’s Board
Keep sending in the information for the honours board which still needs to be updated, however with the Al Brown MVP it’s directly from CricHQ – however for some reason the stat’s are split into two seasons for the Premier Mens with the 2-day competition in ‘2015/16’ season and 1 day competition in the ‘2015/16’ season so a bit of adding up sees Blake Coburn make a charge to second on 76.76 points behind Deon Cremer on 82.82
Spot Light on Sponsor’s
Marriot’s provide a full accounting and business service and have set themselves out to provide excellent levels of service to a wide range of small and mid-sized business. Marriots provide the club a range of services which they very kindly offer without any fee and it’s a pleasure to have Doug Allcock, a partner of Marriotts, as Treasurer on the committee.
