Cricket Live Day – Thank you for all your support

cricket live day nov 7

Thank you for all the help and support, the weather turned it on and there was plenty of really positive feedback from everyone involved who made it happen. It is great to know that as a cricket community we are able to really help out a great cause.

Junior Cricket

The Honours Board has been updated for BWU2 Jamie Hays 44 retired vs Sydenham, and Joey Hull from BWU9, 31* as well an excellent bowling performance from Tom Giddens with 4/9 – awesome figures! Thanks for all of the great photos coming in – please keep sharing on Facebook they look just great, check this awesome selfie from BWU5 – that will hard to beat!

Senior Cricket

It’s a bit of a shame we couldn’t celebrate the first Ton of the season from the club with a win – Premier Men’s batsman Carl Huyser scored 108 on Saturday vs OBC, he did manage to celebrate with his cousin Deon Cremer who has been consistantly at the top of the Al Brown MVP points awards. Deon Cremer on the Left, and centurion Carl Huyser.

David O’Brien also had a stunning weekend in the Brawlers match against OBC, with bowling figures of 5/25 and scoring 75* to take over the lead from his team mate Deon in Al Brown MVP. The Brawlers continue their winning ways, joined with 2a’s who had two good wins under leadership of Matt Janett on the Saturday and Jordan Buchanan on the Sunday.

The Rolling Stones look like they also had their first win of the season, however the President’s went down in their top of the table clash against Merivale Papanui. If you have any special performances post up some pics on the clubs facebook page.

Honorary Members Luncheon

We invited our Honorary Members for a luncheon on Saturday and it was great to see many of them come and enjoy some time in the club. Many of these members also helped to develop our club at Burnside Park from 1 pitch and a shed in 1972 and they are still prepared to go the extra distance and support the club today. Special thanks to Peter Burke who arranged lunch.

The new iniative of becoming involved in the ‘Jack Kerr Pride’ is another level of Honorary membership that allows extras funds to be put aside and spent for the benefit of the club. Honorary Membership is $30.00 per annum and ‘Jack Kerr Pride’ is $100.00 which includes the honorary membership – click here for honorary membership

Honours Board and Al Brown

The Honour’s Board has been update as of today, if there are any performances not on the board please email as these are only being picked up on the results in CricHQ.

After some quick calulations we find that David O’Brien’s performance has taken him to the top of Al Brown MVP with 96.08 with Blake Coburn closely following on 93.97…some other points scorer’s might be joining them once Arun returns from Holiday.
