This Anzac day we will remember those from our cricket club who have served and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Sam Noster, Premier Men’s captain and Geoff Fosbender from the 2b team and NZ Army, will be laying a wreath on behalf of the club at the dawn service held in Cranmer Square this Monday, details of the service can be found on the CCC website: http://www.ccc.govt.nz/culture-and-community/events-and-festivals/annual-events/anzac/
We will be at the Chester Street West part of Cranmer Square, opposite the cenotaph and you are welcome to come and join us.
Last year we manage to complete some research on the member who serviced in The Great War and this has been added too with some work those served in WWII. The link for this information is below, if you have any further information please contact the club.

We know from Brian Adams excellent book on the History of the club that Jack Burton from the club died in WW2 and we like to find out some more information about Jack and if he was was originally from Christchurch. We not sure if it might be James Tasman Burton – any information would be appreciated.
Martin Donnelly who had already represented New Zealand before he came to Christchurch played for 33 years at the club before the war. Archives New Zealand has a Newsreel of a match he was involved in and it can be seen on the link below on YouTube.
