Welcome to this weeks newsletter from Burnside Park, firstly I hope this newsletter finds you, your family and friends safe & well after the Kaikoura earthquakes earlier in the week.

First Test at Hagley Oval starting today
Join me in wishing club member & Black Cap Tom Latham all the best for the test match this week & fingers crossed the weather plays its part. Tom Latham’s highest test score of 137 is against Pakistan – so we hope to see a repeat performance in front of a home crowd!

Friday Night Junior Cricket
This week Friday Night Junior cricket is still on, but due to the forecast please keep an eye on Facebook for updates if there are any cancellations notices. We will still need to get the raffle tickets back rain or shine so keep ready on how to do this –
Club Raffle Tickets
The club needs to get back all of the raffle tickets (sold or unsold) and the money this week on Friday at the latest.
You can return the tickets to the club on Thursday 17/11 & Friday 18/11 between 6.00pm and 6.30pm (and at the end of Friday Night Cricket). If you are playing in a Saturday please return your tickets to your team captain or coach & if you need to make any additional arrangements to return the tickets please contact Dan Vedder, 021 222 7766 or email danv@efsix.co.nz
The club would like to thank everyone for their help in selling the tickets and fundraising, this money helps run and make improvements to the club as well as keeping subscriptions down.

Club Day – 26th November
Saturday the 26th of November is club day and we will be having the following:
- Sausage Sizzle for all the Saturday Morning players (Junior Matches will be at or Near BWC)
- Jack Kerr Pride Club, Life Members and Sponsors Lunch – 12pm
- Social Carribean Night from 7.30pm (Partners welcome) Club has arrange for a courtesy van for the night to make sure you get dropped off safe and sound.
- Spot Prizes on the day.

Update on Cricket
South African All-Rounder & Coach – JJ Naude
It’s been a very wet start to the season with rainfull it seems at the end of each week which is causing these ground cancellations.Christchurch Metro Cricket and CJCA are doing what they can to get play and if you want read more about their efforts please click on this link to the CMCA Newsletter
With Saturday Junior and uncovered cricket cancelled it was a long day waiting for play for both Premier Men and 2a whose results were forgettable….so onwards and upwards as they say. The only change in Al Brown was Cam Hawkins making his way to the top overtaking JJ Naude in this close battle for the club’s top award. For full details click on the link below.
