BWCUCC Club Day on the 26th November

This Saturday is Club Day. Club Day is our annual event where the whole club plays at or near Burnside Oval, and we get together to celebrate and socialize as a club. For the junior club – all teams are playing at or near Burnside Park. Make sure to come back to the pavilion after the game for a sausage sizzle and a can of fizz.

The club will be proudly hosting our generous club sponsors, Jack Kerr Pride club and honourary club members for a pre-Christmas luncheon at 12:00 noon.

The Premier Men will be playing on the number 1 deck, and players, partners and families will be sharing lunch in the pavilion at the innings break. Expected to be from 12:30.

Caribbean Party at the Club Rooms!

For senior club members and supporters  – to close out the festivities of Club Day keep an eye on Facebook for details of the annual pre-Christmas BWCUCC party. This year’s theme is ‘a night in the Caribbean’. All welcome (18+ age limit).

Black Caps action at Hagley Oval

New Zealand 200 (Raval 55, Rahat 4-62) and 108 for 2 (Williamson 61) beat Pakistan 133 (Misbah 31, de Grandhomme 6-41) and 171 (Sohail 40, Wagner 3-34, Boult 3-37) by eight wickets.

What a way to start the NZ Black Caps Summer of Cricket! Despite losing one day to rain, the Black Caps dominated a low scoring test match that only lasted three days. The two debutants did immensely well in their first test and Neil Wagner became the second fastest New Zealand bowler (behind R J Hadlee) to reach 100 test wickets. Burnside’s Tom Latham had a pretty quiet game in what can be described as seamer friendly conditions – scoring 1 and 9, and taking a catch in each Pakistan innings.

All teams back in action this weekend

After a weekend off for the test match at Hagley Oval, all teams return to action this weekend. Check out your draw on CricHQ, or at the links below:
