Annual General Meeting – Reminder

Please remember the AGM is being held this coming Tuesday the 3rd of October, 7pm at Burnside Cricket Clubrooms. Please attend to support your club – apologies can be emailed into the club if you are not able to attend.

Junior Registration Update

With the run up to the school holidays we have our last registration day this Saturday from 10-12pm at Burnside Cricket Clubrooms.

The year 8 & 7 juniors have had a trial (thanks parents for coming down) and teams will shortly be selected for these sides and announced. While we endeavor to provide a place for players who wish to play together, sometimes these wishes are not able to be met.

Thank you for all the coaches and managers who have volunteered to look after a junior team – we may still need some more help once the teams are finalised, so if you are able to give some time to a team with another parent its a very rewarding role.

We will still be taking some registrations after this day – please contact the Junior Covenor, Shane Young on 021 771 392 or email the club and we will try and get you into a team.

There is still plenty of space for Friday Night registrations for SuperStar Academy and Kiwi Cricket.

Working Bee Results

Thanks to the special effort put in by all the helpers and for Dave Robertson who organised the day.

Special mention to Tony Edlin who spent the morning waterblasting the artificial grass on the practice wickets and got soaked, but achieved a great result!

Pre-Season Matches this weekend

This weekend the Premier Men’s team will travel to Blenheim to play two fixtures. They are taking a squad of 15 and the format will allow Paul O’Brien to try out some new players to the club against Nelson and Marlborough opposition.

The 2a side under the leadership of Steve McKean is at Burnside Oval playing a 50 over match against a visiting side from Timaru. If you need to get your cricket fix this weekend come down for a look.
