Pre-Season Training – Commencing 7th of September

If you are are a morning grade cricketer and want to try out for our Premier, 2nd Grade or 2nd Grade C teams click in the the following link for our schedule. BWCUCC_Pre-Season 2016_17

This year the 2nd Grade teams will have split into split grades Red / Black that will then play off in a top 6 / bottom 6 format.  The 2 ‘C’ will comprise 6 teams. BWCUCC will have team in the 2nd Grade ‘Black’ and 2C Grade.

These grade are excellent if you leaving school and want to press on for higher honours at Premier Level – you can talk Brett Thompson – club captain about these options.

Burnside Cricket is one of eight premier cricket clubs in the Christchurch, New Zealand’s second largest city. The club’s headquarters are at Burnside Oval, in the north-west of Christchurch. The Club’s top team competes in the Premier grade, which is the highest metropolitan competition. Each season, there are two day, one day and Twenty/20 titles to be won.

Christchurch Metro Cricket grades have something for everyone, whether you are a social or serious cricketer, or whether you want to play all day or just spend three hours in a T20 match.

The Burnside West Christchurch University CC Afternoon Grade Teams

In addition to the clubs 3 morning grade teams, we have got a range of afternoon grade teams that play 40 Over one day games or in the 20/20 competition. If you want to get involved in one of these teams them please contact the club by email or talk to the club captain Brett Thomson.

Match Day

Matches can be either at home or at opposition grounds, but most summer Saturdays there will be good cricket to watch at Burnside Oval, starting no later than 11am

Practices

Grass net practices three nights a week from 5.30pm:

Tuesdays. Premier and 2nd Grade teams
Wednesdays. An open club training for the 2A and 2B teams, and players from our afternoon grade teams
Thursdays. Premier team and special training group

In addition, our artificial practice pitches are available for players and teams who would like to organise other practices.
