Cricket

Burnside West Christchurch University Cricket provides playing, coaching, and administration opportunities for all ages and skill levels.

Junior Cricket

Burnside West Christchurch University Cricket provides opportunities for boys and girls of all ages. Whether they are picking up a bat for the first time or want to play in a representative competition we can cater for them.

Men’s Cricket

We have teams in the top three CMCA competitive morning grades who play a mixture of Two Day, One Day and Twenty20 cricket, as well as social afternoon grades who play 40 over or Twenty20 cricket.

University Cricket

Are you a university student studying in Christchurch, and looking for your cricket fix? Burnside Oval became the home of university cricketers in Canterbury when the West Christchurch University Club was part of another merger with the Burnside Cricket Club in 1972.

Youth Cricket

Our club is a hub for developing players. We provide cricket pathways for High School age players through our North West Youth Cricket programme with playing and coaching opportunities for those in Years 9 to 13.

Social Cricket

If you just want to play cricket, but aren’t interested in participating at a competitive level, give social afternoon grade cricket a try. From 40-over matches, to short Twenty20 games, there is something for everyone.

Honorary Membership and Jack Kerr Pride

The club welcomes Honorary membership with an annual subscription cost of $30.00.

You can download the BWCUCC Honorary membership form which has all the information required to join.

Jack Kerr Pride

This is a second level of Honorary Membership named after New Zealand Cricketer Jack Kerr who served BWCUCC for over 77 years as a player, committee member, club captain, selector, President and Patron. You can read more about Jack Kerr on Wikipedia

The ‘Pride” comes from our club crest of a Lion and being part of the pride, as well the pride we have in our club.

This membership is also an option available for playing members who are in a position and wish to do more for the club. The  “Jack Kerr Pride” members will receive exclusive communication & invitation to events. The additional funds raised by these members will be spent on directly improving the club and players. Jack Kerr Members will have a direct say in where the funding is to be used.
