After a mid-season break, our weekly newsletter is back. This week we review the matches from the rounds on the 14th and 21st December 2013, and the 11th January 2014.

JUNIOR PREMIERS FINISH THE SEASON ON A HIGH
Our Junior Premier team completed an outstanding and unbeaten season, winning their final match against the strong Old Boys (making it 8 from 8), retaining the Derek Cockburn Challenge Shield and winning the competition. Great stuff guys! All the very best for 2014 and beyond to those heading off to secondary school. Coach Peter Hay’s match report can be found here.

Position on table after one round: 5th of 8 teams

14 and 21 December: Drew with Lancaster Park Woolston (BWU 485/7 in the second innings after trailing by 208 on the first innings). Position on table: fourth of eight teams after two rounds.
11 January: Won both T20 rounds against Lancaster Park Woolston and Marist Harewood. A win this Saturday morning against Old Boys Collegians will see them through to the T20 final in the afternoon.

14 and 21 December: Lost to Old Boys Collegians by six wickets. Position on table: eighth of eight teams after two rounds.
11 January. Loss to Riccarton in the first T20 match, but beat Heathcote in the second round.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BWU PLAYERS IN WINNING CANTERBURY A TEAM
Well done to George Worker and Sam Noster who were part of the Cantebury A team that won the inter-provincial tournament at Lincoln in early January. To see their individual performances, you can check out the scoreboards here.
