The club hosted a school year 5-6 North West Zone Cricket Festival day on Friday the 5th of December which was an initiative from Will Kennedy to revitalise some year 5/6 school cricket and get it back up and running in our part of the community.
The Festival was supported by 6 of our local schools Te Ara Maurea Roydvale School, Emmanuel Christian School, Te Kura o Te Mātāpuna Isleworth, Wigram Primary School Te Piki Kāhu, Te Parito Kōwhai Russley School, and Avonhead School – Rakipaoa and we grateful to the schools for supporting this initiative.

Each team had 10 players but had to have a minimum of 2 girls playing at once, 10 overs per innings on 16m pitches that Dave Robertson created on the outfield near the pavilion. There were three rounds and between the rounds the players were able to use the Canterbury Cricket inflatable and have lunch in the clubrooms.
Will Kennedy was supported by our UC intern Mohit Sunder who was available to help setup and run the Festival.
