Junior Cricket was in action this week with several cricket festivals being hosted by South Canterbury Cricket Association, Christchurch Junior Cricket Association and Canterbury Country.
Burnside Park was the venue for the Tier 2 Year 8 competition with 6 teams playing across the park on 18m grass pitches prepared specially for the festival.
Teams who have travelled from Nelson and South Canterbury were staying at College House at UC and were treated to some wonderful weather. A big thank you to Kayla Pringle who volunteered her time to have the clubrooms open during the day allow some respite from the heat as well some cool drinks and iceblocks! The club is very grateful to CJCA for their continue support of the club and it’s facilities and to Rob Wilkinson delivering the tournament.

In the South Canterbury heat a trio of our Year 8 juniors were playing in the Tier 1 Year 8 Festival for CJCA Red and made the club proud with their performances.

In North Canterbury at Mandeville hosted the Year 7 Festival featuring plenty of Burnside juniors playing in ideal cricket conditions, thanks to Liz Gibson for sending in some photos of the boys.

Thanks to everyone who sent in photos, apologies if we didn’t manage to capture everyone playing – enjoy your cricket.
