The second week of the 2026 Club 100 campaign had our only match of the tournament as the boys travelled to Redwood Park to take on Marist-Harewood on Redwood 1. With long lush grass due to the rain the boundaries were brought in a little and with a quick refresh of the rules we won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Having 13 registered players and they were all available to play Bondy made a plan to get everyone involved in the game and Omar who had arrived back from Pakistan offered to umpire match.
Marist-Harewood was filled with familiar faces including current NW Youth Cricket team mates and they got off to a good start against some real pace with Oscar Colhoun and Alex de Bock opening the batting. Noah Townrow opened and batting through the innings for 25*, Tom Gainsford 31* retired not out and Angus Herring 25. BWCUCC bowling was shared around with 10 bowlers and Isaac Riley the pick with 2/18 off his three overs and Jack Straker 1/8 off his 3 overs. The boys rotated the fielders with players coming off every couple of overs.
MHCC were 138/6 at the end of the innings and in the chase with Liam Bond anchored the chase retiring not out 33* off 20, George Reynolds 21* retired not out, Oscar Colhoun 19,Muhammad Haroon 16, and Jack Straker 13 including 3 x 4s saw the team chase down the target with a 4 wicket win and a couple of overs in hand. https://www.playhq.com/new-zealand-cricket/org/christchurch-metro-cricket-associationcjca/cmca-adult-summer-202526/club-100-festival-year-10/game-centre/95858a9d

The rain returned as forecast on Wednesday and Thursday and the double header fixtures against Lincoln and OBC were cancelled, not to be deterred we arrange a game of Indoor Cricket at Action Indoor Sports Hornby and had a bite to eat afterwards and talked some cricket before wishing the boys all the best for this coming youth cricket season.
A big thanks to Chris and Erin Bond, Dwayne McCormick, Tim Colhoun and all our wonderful supportive parents.
