Congratulations to Greg King who graduated with his PhD from the University of Canterbury.
We were incredibly grateful to have Greg and Kim move into our community as the family immigrated to Christchurch from South Africa during those COVID times in 2020, and it was back to study for Greg who has spent over 20 years in strength and conditioning for cricket athletes with roles for Cricket South Africa and Indian national team. He has worked at the Chennai Super Kings for 17 years over two periods and also now involved with Canterbury Cricket.1
We first meet Greg and Kim at Friday Night Cricket and it took a while to realise that we had an experienced and knowledgeable person at the club, as he was a Dad enjoying watching his kids play sport.

In another related milestone is that Greg was Sibi’s first PhD graduate as an academic supervisor. To have another person who volunteers at the club and on the faculty as a senior lecturer at the School of Health Sciences and he provides a real performance difference particularly for your young female athletes.
Greg said will able to produce more research papers to share knowledge to improve performance and keeping players robust.
