Staying in touch across a club of nearly 500 members — from Friday Night Smashies through junior boys, North West Youth Cricket (NWYC), North West Women’s Cricket (NWWC), and every senior grade — has always been a challenge. To make that easier, we’ve set up the official WhatsApp Community for Burnside West Christchurch University Cricket Club (BWCUCC).

The Community works like a hub: one Announcements group will carry club-wide news (time sensitive announcements, registrations, prizegiving, events), while separate groups let you chat with your own team or programme without cluttering everyone’s phone. Once you’re in the Community, you can browse and join all the groups that apply to you — your team, your child’s team, or your volunteer role. A few things to know before you tap in: This is a club-wide community. For general club announcements keep an eye on the Announcements group – only club Admins can post messages here. To join the general conversation and post your own comments and news join the BWCUCC All Members group chat, or ask to join any of the other BWCUCC team or grade private groups that are visible in the Community.  Remember – we expect the same respectful, inclusive tone on WhatsApp that we aim for at Burnside Park; team banter stays in team groups, and the Announcements group is for notices that matter to the whole club.
