Junior Year 4 Teams receive caps

This season we have two Year 4 teams playing in Saturday Morning CJCA competitions and this the first time that they will be representing the club against other clubs and teams and will be wearing white pants or shorts, team shirt and their first playing cap.

The teams where made up from players from last years Year 3 kiwi cricket group, many of whom started as Year 1s in the Super Star academy group, had a warm up match to start. Parents and players then came up to the clubrooms where Burnside Cricket Premiers players Mitchell Hay, Will O’Rouke and Flint Rogers presented them with their caps. Mitchell was himself a Friday Night junior player and commented

“I remember having Carl Huyser (Premier Coach and player) coach me on a Friday and now I am in the Premier team playing along side with him”

It won’t be too long before these youngsters work their way through the grades on one day they might be playing with Mitchell in the Premier team.

our Friday night junior cricket program is proudly supported by local business owner Carol and her team at Kendal Vehicle Services, 20 Sheffield Crescent.
