The CMCA one day Semi Final hosted at Burnside on Sunday 18/3/2024 is a massive occasion for Carl Huyser. Carl becomes the 2nd player in BWCUCC history to play 300 premier games, joining long time team mate Scott Inglis.

Carl joined the club in 2008 after moving to Christchurch from South Africa. Since that moment Carl has imposed himself on bowling attacks with skill & flare, never shying away from a contest or taking a game on.
His numbers speak for themselves, the highest run scorer in CMCA T20 history and BWCUCC’s 3rd highest run scorer behind Jack Kerr & Brian Hastings.
Carl’s captaincy sparked a revival in the clubs trophy fortunes, winning the 2017/18 One Day comp after a long drought. Now as Player/Coach Carl has created a professional environment which has created great team success & individual growth with many players filtering into representative systems around the country.
Carls greatest asset will always be ability to make people welcome, believe in themselves and enjoy their time in and around cricket. Teammates will fondly recall many stories of evenings had with Carl at the club!!
Congratulations Carl, from everyone here at BWCUCC. Enjoy the day ![]()
At the presentation to Carl post game in the clubrooms the room was full and Matt Hay and Scott Inglis spoke well.
