The club recently had an opportunity to celebrate Jackson Latham’s 150th Premier grade appearance for the club with his blazer updated and presented by Matt Hay
Jackson joined the club in 2012 fresh out of Christ College and played a handful of games before heading south to study in Dunedin. Jackson moved back to Christchurch and rejoined BWCUCC in 2017.
Jackson quickly made an impression in the competition with fast hostile spells and quickly drove the standards of the team with him. Jackson made his Canterbury ‘A’ debut in 2018 on the back of strong club performances, where he played consistently for 7 seasons and won two professional contracts in that time.
Jackson was a key figure in the ‘drought breaking’ 2017 One Day Competition win claiming 5 wickets in the final and being awarded man of the match. Jackson has played a key hand in 5 other trophy successes, two more 50 comps, two red ball competitions and was man of the match in the recent t20 final in 2024. Jacko’s numbers speaks for themselves and his ability to take the team on his back and change games within a spell has been a huge part of the clubs success in modern times. Go well Jackson!
