2025 Annual Golf Day

The return of the Golf Day say 16 teams entered into the Ambrose format with the shotgun start at Bottle Lake Golf Club with a lovely day for golf. Thanks to Matt Everest and Jordan Buchanan who organised the event and Jordan who ran it on the day.

Commencing with a BBQ the players assembled ready to take on the course after some encouraging words from Jordan.

We would to thank and acknowledge our sponsors and prize providers

  • Kookaburra NZ for the Black Clash Shirt we will be Auctioning
  • Crusaders for the signed Crusaders shirt
  • Rentworks who provided the golf ball prizes
  • DB for helping with merchandise and drinks
  • Novotel Cathedral Square for the Putting competition prize
  • Clearwater and Russley Golf Clubs for Prizes
  • Placemakers Riccarton for the BBQ thanks Mark Harding

The Ambrose format always tries to level the field and we saw some very competitive golf even from some of our players who had said they were out to enjoy a social round. The handicap competition was won by Team McDuff with Alex McDuff, Adam Highfield, Chris Anderson and Steve McLeod.

A big shout out to Cambell Eathorne who has put together a team of players new to golf and was doing plenty of coaching along the way. Drinks and refreshments were provided on the cart, one of which was driven by life member David Fox.

The Putting competition was favourite on the day with a 60 foot challenge which players paid $10.00 for 3 putts. The standard was extremely high and we have 6 players sink a putt that left it tied during the day and we then had a play off. One of the first players to sink the putt was Sean Faulkner who looked relaxed heading into the play offs.
