Sunday’s Premier One Day Semi- Final win over East Christchurch Shirley was even more special for Matt Farrant who bought up his 200th appearance for BWCUCC.
Matt bowled his 10 overs for a misely 24 runs while picking up 2 key wickets in the process, leading a strong bowling effort, which paved the way for a dominant run chase putting BWCUCC into only their second one day final of the century.
‘Faz’ has taken over 350 wickets and scored over 2000 runs accross the years, making him an incredibly dominant force amongst metro cricket. A lot of those wickets were taken running into a stiff nor-easter as his great mate Scott Inglis had the right of way down breeze!
After the match Scott Inglis presented Matt his 200 game blazer in front of the team, his family & wider club members. Scott remarked on how much stronger Burnside was when Matt Farrant was in the side, and thanked him for giving him the downbreeze for so many years!!!
Congradulations Faz, all the best for game 201 next Sunday!
