2022 Junior Cricket update
Junior Cricket registrations are mostly all in and we are working through organising our Saturday morning grades, the first match gets underway on the Saturday the 22nd of October. We will be accepting registrations throughout the year for our Friday Night Kiwi and Smash Play programs – the first Friday 21st of October

Peter Isle awarded life membership
At the clubs 117th Annual General Meeting on Tuesday the 27th September 2022, long serving club member Peter Isle was awarded Life Membership of the cricket club. Peter was not aware he was going to be up for life membership, and it took a bit of planning with his sister Tricia both to keep it a secret as well as to get Peter to come along to the AGM.

Junior Cricket – Pre-season and Registration
You may have seen that our registrations are open for the coming season, the move to the new “PlayHQ” means that if you wish to keep any stats from previous years you will need to fill in your CricHQ ID number and I have attached a list of last year’s numbers.
Because of the school holiday dates and that the junior cricket starts back just after the school holidays it is really helpful if you register as soon as you can.

BWCUCC New Playing and Training Clothing
BWCUCC with the support of Cricket Express and Paladin would like to present our new playing and training gear for the 2022/23 season and beyond.
The design has a maroon domination, our distinctive colour with navy blue and gold incorporated maintaining the history of the three clubs that have become BWCUCC.
With the creation of two new sides calling Burnside Park their home for 2022 the design has been made to align our senior uniforms. We wish to welcome all of our new members to our second presidents side & our other new side whose grade is yet to be determined
Our Premiership, Championship, Div 2 Lions will be joining our two new teams in this design, with the President Foxes & Broncos sticking with their recently adopted new Paladin kit.
This season we are going to begin migrating away from club supplied shirts and pants due players wanting to retain their shirts, the get the correct fit for everyone and has the opportunity for you to add your name and number to this kit
All players intending to play in one of these five sides please reach out to your captain to place your order if contact has not already been made! There is urgency to the order due to the nature of lead times and the first club wide order will be submitted on 3rd August

ANZAC day wreath laying 2022
This ANZAC day the club was able to once again lay a wreath in a public service on behalf of the members of our club in memory of those who served and were never to return

Honours Board updated – including Twenty20 achievements
The club has just has it’s Honours Board updated which will be special for players Matt Hay, Mitch Hay and Will O’Rourke who will see there names up under the “Canterbury” section for their representative honours.

Geoff Boorer from our grounds services supply partner Perennial, a sponsor, club member and former committee member contacted us about evaluating their demonstration Quickscore scoreboard as well as having it at the clubrooms so that is seen in action.

Junior Year 8 Leavers 2021
In their last year at intermediate school our Year 8 players finish their club cricket in December before they head off to their respective high schools, some of the players have been with the club for 7 years starting out at our KVS Friday Night junior cricket at Burnside Park until transitioning into Saturday morning cricket with Christchurch Junior Cricket Association.
